EMBA vs. MBA

It seems as though there are some people that discount EMBA's out there. For reputable programs, such as Wharton, Darden, Kellogg, I don't see why such opinions exist. It seems to me that some people have an impression of EMBA's that is outdated. Reputable MBA's from the schools just mentioned require the same admissions req's, same classes, same hours of class, same professors, etc. as the full time equivalent. They simply accomplish everything in a different format, which is arguably more challenging given the fact that EMBA's must work a full time job, and don't go out partying 4 nights a week like the full timers frequently do (I have many friends at reputable schools that party more than when they were in college). I don't see any aspect of these reputable EMBA's that would make them any less valuable than the full time equivalent. Not everyone can take 2 years off and go back to school. It seems to me that full time MBA's try to discount the EMBA's just to make themselves look good without rational logic behind their thinking. After all, schools such as Wharton, Columbia, and Berkeley make no distinction on their degrees. I don't think they did this on a whim. Can anyone give me a GOOD reason that EMBA's are devalued by some seemingly ignorant souls?
